Chief Executive Officer, Virginia Bio 

John is CEO of Virginia Bio, the statewide non-profit trade association representing over 300 life science organizations across the Commonwealth. These include companies in biopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, digital health, medical technology, agriculture, and industrial biotechnology. Virginia Bio serves as the state affiliate of key national industry organizations such as BIO, AdvaMed, and PhRMA. Previously, John served as Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, leading an 850-member agency providing employment, education, and healthcare services to veterans. His background also includes corporate and biopharmaceutical law practice, as well as service in the U.S. Air Force, where he commanded a special operations unit and deployed as a B-1B aviator. John holds a B.S. from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
